Ryder Trucks announces 73 layoffs coming to Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A truck rental company has announced impending layoffs in Fayetteville.

Ryder sent a WARN (Worker Adjustment Retraining and Notification Act) notice to employees alerting them to the mass layoffs.

Effective Oct. 12, 73 workers will be let go as the Ryder location at 2486 Gillespie St. is set to close.

The company said it will continue operations in the area, but another logistics provider will operate at the Gillespie Street facility.
