Section of Chapel Hill Road in Durham will be closed for over a week, NCDOT officials say

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- A section of Chapel Hill Road near Ward Street in Durham will be closed for over a week, according to NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

Starting at 8 a.m. Wednesday, the road will be closed until the evening of Oct. 24 as crews work to replace a crossline pipe that has failed.

Drivers should pay close attention to posted signs and use extra caution in the work zone.

Detour

Northbound traffic will detour to Ward Street, James Street, Bivins Street back to Chapel Hill Road.

Southbound traffic will detour to Bivins Street, James Street, Ward Street back to Chapel Hill Road.
