Wake County deputies find man shot along Fayetteville Road

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting along the 9100 block of Fayetteville Road near the 540 Triangle Expressway and Wake Tech Community College.

Deputies told ABC11 that they responded to a shots-fired call around 8 p.m. Wednesday but couldn't find a victim.

About an hour and a half later, they found a man at a nearby apartment complex who had been shot.

He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators said there is a person of interest, and they believe there's no ongoing threat to the community.
