Charges pending against driver involved in late night Wake County pursuit, deputies say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A driver involved in a Tuesday night vehicle pursuit was taken into custody by Wake County Sheriff's Office.

Joshua Bower Jr., 20, was charged with felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, hit and run and other traffic-related offenses.

It began around 10 p.m. when a deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle in Raleigh. The chase ended near Louisburg Road and Perry Creek Road when Bower, the driver, crashed into two other vehicles. He then jumped out of the car and ran from the scene.

WCSO said they conducted a search in the area of Louisburg Road and Mitchell Mill Road, using drones and K-9 units. Bower was found around 1:45 a.m.

No serious injuries were reported.
