2 townhomes in Raleigh damaged after lightning strike causes fire
The fire spread quickly after lightning struck the attic of a home on Wyatt Brook Way in north Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A lightning storm in north Raleigh caused a large townhome fire on Friday afternoon.

At least two homes were damaged in the 4800 block of Wyatt Brook Way.

The fire spread quickly after lightning struck the attic of a home around 4:40 p.m, prompting a heavy firefighter response.

The neighboring home sustained significant water damage.

It took about 20 minutes for firefighters to get the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported, but families in both units were displaced.

No one was in the home where the fire started.
