Woman found dead in pond behind Cary home

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Cary Police are investigating an apparent drowning on Monday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded just after 1:30 p.m. to the 8000 block of Piney Branch Drive and found a woman in a pond behind a home.

She was pulled from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. No other details were immediately released.
