Raleighman saves the Capital City with good deeds
A little boy conquers his shy demeanor by putting on his superhero gear and saving the Capital City

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A little boy in Raleigh is training to be a superhero.

When Arlo Jordan turned 4, he was sent on a training mission around town to do good deeds for the citizens of Raleigh as his new alias, Raleighman.

What his family soon found out, though, is that Raleighman did some good for Arlo, too.

Arlo knows a thing or two about superheroes. And, as little kids can do, his great imagination created Raleighman.

"We spend a lot of time in our community, we love parks, we like to eat out, we like to spend time in local Raleigh restaurants and shops and things as a family," said Arlo's mom, Melissa. "We have a lot of Raleigh pride and I think that's rubbed off on him."

So when Arlo turned 4 a few weeks ago, his parents brought Raleighman to life.

"He told us what Raleighman's armor looks like, and a costume and a helmet," Melissa told ABC11.

With lacrosse pads, spray paint, duct tape, and roasting pans, Arlo's parents made Raleighman's armor.

"He just lit up," Melissa said.

Arlo is typically very shy and he has a condition that affects his vision. He can still see, but most kids that have it are legally blind.

But once he puts on the Raleighman suit, he can do anything.

"It gives him the courage that he doesn't necessarily have on his own," Melissa said.

First, Raleighman took breakfast to the firefighters at a local station. Then he came downtown to Artsplosure and handed out flowers to people.

He hung out with police officers before having lunch with Spiderman. It's just a typical day in the life of a superhero.

"I fight bad guys, I don't fight good guys, I only fight bad guys," Arlo told ABC11.

"That armor gives him a lot of courage and lets him be the guy he dreams and imagines he is," Melissa explained.

Arlo's mom and dad are adding other things to Raleighman's list of good deeds to do in his community.
