Roanoke Rapids police chief ousted

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WTVD) -- There's been a shake-up at the Roanoke Rapids Police Department.

Wednesday afternoon, the city confirmed that Chuck Hasty was out as police chief.

The city confirmed that Hasty's employment ended Wednesday but would not elaborate citing it as a personnel matter.

"We wish Chuck and his family all the best in the future," City Manager Joseph Scherer told ABC11.

Hasty had been chief since 2014.
