Dr. Tounya Wright's resignation is effective January 31st.

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The principal at Eno Valley Elementary School in Durham is stepping down.
It comes after an indictment alleging she and two other DPS administrators were not fully forthcoming surrounding an investigation of child abuse.
Dr. Tounya Wright is facing three counts of felony obstruction of justice and one count of perjury.
This is connected to a November 2024 incident involving a six-year-old girl who was allegedly tied to a chair by a teacher.
Dr. Wright's resignation is effective January 31st.
DPS officials tell us her status remains suspended with pay until the end of the month.
