NC police dogs finds boy with special needs in snowstorm

GASTONIA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A police dog helped find a boy with special needs during the height of this weekend's snowstorm in North Carolina.

Police in Gastonia say the K-9 and a police sergeant helped search for the missing 13 year old.

Authorities say the boy walked out of his house and was not dressed properly for the weather conditions and was at risk of developing hypothermia.

The K-9 named Bo helped find the boy as police set up a perimeter near the home.

A short time later, officers found him.

He was cold, but is expected to be okay.
