As summer ends, COVID-19 activity is increasing across the United States, according to health officials.
"The proportion of people coming into the Emergency Room with COVID has gone up."
The U.S. death rate decreased by 3.8% in 2024 as COVID fell out of the top 10 leading causes of death for the first time in four years, new provisional CDC data shows.
Gov. Kathy Hochul signed an executive order Friday morning allowing New Yorkers to get a COVID-19 vaccine at pharmacies in the state without a prescription.
The vaccines are approved for use in people 65 and older, as well as those younger with at least one health condition that makes them high-risk.
"100% of adults in this country can still get the vaccine if they choose," FDA Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary said
