Panthers' Curtis Samuel to miss opener due to medical illness

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said that wide receiver Curtis Samuel will miss Carolina's opener Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys thanks to what he called a "medical illness." Rivera did not give specifics.
