There will be no civil trial involving the families of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundry after both sides came to an agreement on Wednesday night.
Petito "displayed the classic hallmarks of an abused partner," the notice of claim says, by taking blame for the incident. The officers "did not press further," the notice says.
Her father posted a message on Twitter, writing that she "has inspired so many to live, travel and leave unhealthy relationships."
For the first time, the parents of Brian Laundrie, the fiancé of Gabby Petito, have released writings from his personal notebook.
A Florida judge will decide Wednesday whether Petito's parents have enough evidence to pursue legal action and send the case to a jury.
Gabby Petito's parents allege during the search for the young woman, Brian Laundrie's parents knew their son had killed her.
