Georgia Southern has named veteran quarterback Max Johnson as the Eagles' starter. He previously was the starter at LSU, Texas A&M and North Carolina.
North Carolina has not named a starting quarterback to replace first-round pick Drake Maye, but coach Mack Brown thinks the Tar Heels have a chance to be a better team no matter who wins the competition.
