Sinkhole causes road closure on US-301 near Hill Street in Benson

BENSON, N.C. -- A section of US-301 near Hill Street intersection is closed as police officers investigate a developing sinkhole.

The hole, in its early stages, appears to be growing in size

North Wall Street is clocked from Main Street to West Martin Street.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is working to repair the road.
