Lee Co. Sheriff's Office mourns loss of K-9 Ozzy after medical emergency

LEE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of their new K-9 partner, Ozzy, who passed away after experiencing an unforeseen medical emergency.

The health issue occurred on January 7, shortly after the community had helped select his name.

Ozzy was initially taken to a local veterinary clinic and later transferred to the NC State Veterinary Hospital for advanced care.

He unfortunately passed away Friday night.
