Power restored in Raleigh after crash takes down utility pole

Raleigh, N.C. (WTVD) -- Electricity has been restored after an early morning crash took down a utility Monday in Raleigh.

Police say a driver plowed into a utility pole, which led to the power outage for about 300 customers.

Two women were injured in the crash that happened around 1:00 a.m. in the Five Points area at Fairview Road and Whitaker Mill Road intersection.

The women were taken to WakeMed with serious injuries, Raleigh police said.
