Wake Forest police investigating suspicious incident involving 13-year-old girl
WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wake Forest Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident that occurred Monday evening in the Bowling Green subdivision.
Officials do not believe the incident is related to previous reports involving strangers attempting to lure young children.
Around 6:40 p.m. police responded to an area near the intersection of Jones Dairy Road and Green Mountain Drive after a 13-year-old girl was reportedly approached by an unidentified man in dark clothing wearing a mask.
The victim alleges she was told to take an unknown quantity of pills. After swallowing the pills, the victim ran to a nearby house for help and the homeowner called police.
The victim was transported to WakeMed for testing and observation.
The subject is solely described as a male.
"I just saw a bike on the corner. My dog ran down the street. They had police dogs outside and they were in the woods looking for something. I didn't know what they were looking for," said Andy Moffatt, a concerned parent.
"I have an 11-year-old, a four-year-old, and a two-year-old and it's just disgusting to me that we have to live in fear in a beautiful neighborhood," he added.
Moffatt says police came to his door Monday night and asked if he'd seen a 6 foot tall man, but didn't give him any further description, so he and others are left once again fearing what could happen next.
