Teacher accused of hitting students

CARY It allegedly happened at Adams Elementary School where 51-year-old Edward Gregory worked until June 11.

Warrants in the case say Gregory slapped an 11-year-old boy for not eating his lunch and threw a 10-year-old out of the front door of the school. He also allegedly held two students by the face to force them to eat "as a means of punishment."

Gregory is charged with five counts of assault on a handicapped person.

Conditions of his release on $5,000 bond say he must have no contact with the victims.
