Withers has been offered a position on Urban Meyer's new staff at Ohio State.
Withers interviewed for the fulltime head coaching job at UNC, but that position went to Larry Fedora instead.
Withers will coach the Tar Heels for one more game, the Independence Bowl on Dec. 26 against Missouri.
