Attorney General recovers computers from Raleigh Geeks
AG's office seizes over 100 machines and other electronics from company - seeking to return them to owners.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- The computer repair shop chain known as Raleigh Geeks shut down earlier this year leaving many customers without their computers.

But now the North Carolina Attorney General's office has stepped in and collected 133 computers and other items from the various shops throughout Wake County.

The AG's office recovered the items after taking the business to court for deceptive practices.

The chain was the focus of an I-Team Troubleshooter report last summer after customers complained to us that the repair shop gave back their tablets in worse condition than brought in, or didn't fix their computers at all despite paying for the repair.

Now, the AG's office is working to get the computers back to the owners.

"A vast majority of the things we recovered had a receipt of some sort on top of them, most contained a consumer name and contact information," said Matt Liles with the AG's office.

The AG's office is working on contacting the customers that they know the electronics belong to. But some of it did not have identification, so if you left your computer or tablet for repair at any of the Raleigh Geeks locations, the AG's office wants to hear from you. You can file a complaint with their office.
