Vote for America's Favorite Veterinarian Dr. Page Wages in Raleigh

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A Raleigh woman is in the top running for America's Favorite Veterinarian.

While visiting with Dr. Page Wages, it is very easy to see that she loves her work.

"It's not a job to me, it's more my life," she said. "I love animals. I love the people and being able to help people. I really do feel like this is my calling."

Her passion goes beyond her clients pets. She does Christian Missionary veterinary work with the Navajo every year, and in her personal life, we could call her a female Dr. Doolittle.

"I have seven dogs, one pig, a cat, two gooses - well, a gaggle goose, a duck, 74 chickens," Wages said.

Four of them come to work with her every day at CareFirst Animal Hospital in Raleigh. That includes "Elmer" the pig who does tricks for bananas.

Her co-workers nominated her for Americas Favorite Veterinarian and out of thousands of nominees, Dr. Wages is now in the top 20.

"I'm honored" she said. "I never thought it would even happen. Like who would pick me?
