"Smart Shorties Math Facts" is a hip hop musical where kids use music inspired by Chris Brown, T-Pain and Soulja Boy.
We first told you about the idea two years ago when Paul Lawrence Dunbar Academy teacher Christine Smith used hip hop to boost her students' math skills.
Last year, Smith and the kids teamed up with music producer Alex Smith for the CD "Smart Shorties Multiplication." You can download some songs at SparkTheMind.org.
Today, they held the first of three movie rehearsals in Maumee. The next two rehearsals are June 25 and July 2 at 4 p.m. at Spark the Mind, 135 Chesterfiled Ln. in Maumee. The movie is set to debut this fall.
