Wake breaks ground on justice center

RALEIGH

The Wake County Justice Center will be built in the 300 block of Salisbury Street. The 577,000 sq. ft. facility is expected to meet the growing needs of the court system and other public services for the next 30 to 50 years.

Officials say it's being built without a tax increase. Work is expected to be complete in 2013.

The last courthouse built in Wake County was completed in 1969.
