An additional $1 million dollars from the 2013 budget will go to the vision program which has already helped 200,000 students.
Some studies show that of all school-aged children, nearly a quarter of them have vision problems that are significant enough to impair their academic performance.
Nine doctors will be added to the program to give eye exams and glasses fittings for students.
