Just go to the Apple App Store or Google Play and search "ABC11 First Alert Weather" to download the app.
To customize the app, you just tap the menu to get started. Then you can add up to three locations; just type in a city name, select it and tap save. With each new location you add, you'll get voice alerts and push notifications for severe weather alerts in that area.
You can also find the latest information on school closings right from the menu.
The app can even track weather alerts around you using your phone's GPS signal. Just go to settings and choose "follow me tracking".
Also in settings, tap "notifications" to scroll through and pick which severe weather alerts you'd like to receive.
The app will alert you with a voice alert when there's an active weather alert at one of your saved locations.
We've also included our interactive street-level Doppler radar so you can track the storms and share a snapshot of the radar with your friends.
In the app you can easily check the station's Twitter and Facebook pages and send your pictures directly to the ABC11 Weather Team.
Just tap "iWitness," press upload and you can send us pictures right from your camera roll or snap a new picture.
You can also watch live video of our newscasts when we're on the air through the app. Just make sure you set the notifications for locations you choose so that you only get the alerts you really want.
