Hi Guys.
Healthy choices can be hard. Sometimes, I don't choose the healthier option because I'm too busy. Sometimes, it's because I'm tired. Sometimes, if I'm being honest, I just don't want too.
Everyday, I face this decision:
I park at the Raleigh Convention Center, and head up to Fayetteville Street.
For the past 6 months, I've passed the stairs and jumped on the escalator. I remember watching somebody walking up the steps one day while I was riding, and I thought to myself "What the #$%@ is wrong with that guy? Perfectly good escalator, and he's taking the steps!"
But then I started this "Losin' It" thing, and it became all about the step count. I looked at the set of steps and thought, "Those will help get my steps up over 10,000/day", and I started taking them.
At the top of the steps is the Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureaus' best asset, a lady named Reggie. She always says "Hi" when I pass by. So, when I first started taking the steps, I couldn't even talk to her when I got to the top. Now I can actually hold a conversation.
I tell you this because I know how hard the healthy choice can be. But it's my choice, and my fault if I don't choose it. Nobody to blame but me.
Am I always going to choose the healthy choice, NO WAY. I love pizza too much! But, I am now at least thinking about if there is a healthier option at times. And that is something new to me...
Good luck and keep moving!
