Pharmaceutical company to relocate to Raleigh
Pharmaceutical company Merz Inc. will move from Greensboro to Raleigh and create 50 jobs.

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A German based pharmaceutical company will soon call Raleigh home. Merz will be relocating its headquarters from Greensboro to Raleigh in the coming year.

Governor Pat McCrory made that announcement Wednesday afternoon at the Greater Raleigh Chamber to a room full of Merz executives and Raleigh and Wake County leaders.

The move will transfer about 200 jobs from Greensboro and add another 50 new jobs to Raleigh.

Governor McCrory says he's happy the company chose to stay in North Carolina to grow.

"I'm convinced a lot of the measures we've enacted together on the city, the county and the state level are making North Carolina more business friendly, we're attracting talent from all over the world," said McCrory.

The governor adds that since the company was already in North Carolina, they did not offer an incentive package.

The company will work out of a building in the 6500 block of Six Forks Road.
