Child playing with lighter causes Durham house fire

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham fire officials say a child playing with a lighter started a house fire Monday morning.

Around 2:17 a.m., firefighters responded to the home off Angier Avenue where they found flames coming through the roof.

The fire was quickly extinguished.

There were no injuries and the American Red Cross is assisting two adults and three children.
