Deputies: Street racing led to crash in Durham County

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Durham County deputies say they suspect street racing led to a crash early Sunday.

A deputy spotted a car in the wrong lane of Hwy 70 apparently racing a car on the other side of the highway.

The deputy tried to stop the car which took off and tried to get onto Interstate 85. The driver lost control and crashed. The car rolled over.

Nineteen-year-old Joel Calderon of Durham was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He is charged with driving without a license and speeding.
