Driver killed after SUV hit by train in Moore County

MOORE COUNTY (WTVD) -- Authorities in Moore County say the driver of an SUV was killed Thursday morning after going around a crossing arm and into the path of a freight train.

It happened in the 400 block of Pinebluff Lake Road between US 15-501 and US 1 near, the town of Pinebluff.

The incident closed the roadway for several hours.

The identity of the SUV driver is being withheld pending family notification.
