Man sentenced in Raleigh murder
Dudley Lamar Kee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.

RALEIGH -- A man pleaded guilty in a Raleigh courtroom Wednesday to a 2014 shooting at a Raleigh bar that left a man dead.

Dudley Lamar Kee, 31, and 25-year-old James Keith Nelson were charged with the shooting death of 26-year-old Marcus Owens the Bar and Billiards on South Saunders Street during a fight that escalated.

In court Wednesday, Kee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and a gun charge.

Owens' family was there.

"On Father's Day, instead of spending the day as a father should, we have to spend that day at Marcus' gravesite, talking to him and telling him how much we love him and miss him. All because of a decision you made," said Kierra Jackson, who is the mother of Owens' son.

Kee received a maximum sentence on the second-degree murder charge of 32 and a half years. He got an additional 17-30 months on the gun charge.
