Former Duke basketball coach Bill Foster dies at 85

Former Duke basketball coach Bill Foster has died. He was 85.[br /][br /]Foster guided Duke to the NCAA title game in 1978, where the Blue Devils lost to Kentucky, 94-88.[br /][Ads /][br /][twitter ID="[br /]685304238692544512" /][br /][br /]Foster, who coached at Duke from 1974-1980 was named national coach of the year in 1978, when he led a talented team anchored by three-time first-team All-ACC center Mike Gminski.[br /][br /]Foster's success at Duke restored the program to national prominence, setting the stage for the abundant success of Blue Devils' next coach, Mike Krzyzewski.[br /][br /][b][url HREF="http://bit.ly/1TfmsxL"]Report a Typo[/url][/b]
