3 charged in Durham murder

DURHAM, NC (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department says two men and an alleged getaway driver all face charges in a fatal January 15 shooting.

It happened on North Miami Boulevard at Fiske Street around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Jose Giovanni Guillen Rodriguez, 25, died a short time after he was taken to the hospital.

Investigators have charged Jesus Salgado Briseno, 18, of Kerley Road in Durham and Luis Garcia Navarro, 21, of East Pilot Street in Durham with murder in the case. They also charged Reina Elizabeth Espana, 25, of Brye Street in Durham with accessory after the fact of murder for allegedly driving the men away from the scene.

All three were arrested on unrelated charges in Wake County Jan. 28. They are also currently facing burglary charges in Durham County and are all in the Wake County Jail without bond.
