RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Poe Hall at North Carolina State University has closed to students for environmental testing, according to the university.
All classes previously scheduled to happen in the building will either move online or to another building for the rest of the semester.
Poe Hall is the home to the psychology department. It houses classrooms and labs.
After complaints about air quality in the building, testing confirmed the presence of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls). PCBs have been linked to increased risk of diseases such as cancer.
The university said it will do more comprehensive testing now that classes have been moved and the building is closed to the public.
