WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- School officials say a student at Franklin Academy in Wake Forest is suspected of having a case of Enterovirus. It happened on the school's Chalk Road campus.

Parents were alerted Wednesday afternoon.

"We will be working this evening to ensure that our school is thoroughly sanitized; however, given the nature of the virus we wanted to alert our families," said MaryJo Sullivan, a site administrator for the school.

Symptoms of the Enterovirus include:

- Mild symptoms may include fever, runny nose, sneezing, cough, and body and muscle aches.

- Severe symptoms may include wheezing and difficulty breathing.

For more information on the Enterovirus call your family doctor or check out the CDC's web page at http://www.cdc.gov.
