Fayetteville police charge teen in August rape case

FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville Police Department's Special Victims Unit has a suspect in custody in connection with a rape investigation.

The alleged incident took place on Aug. 24, in the 7600 block of Branchwood Circle.

Antonio Green Jr., 17, of the 800 block of Lakecrest Drive in Fayetteville, has been charged with first-degree forcible rape.

Green was an acquaintance of the victim at the time of the offense, detectives said.

Green surrendered to detectives Tuesday without incident. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond.
