Several soldiers overcome by heat during training at Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WTVD) -- Several soldiers were overcome by heat during a training exercise at Fort Bragg on Wednesday.

It happened on a training flight with the XVIII Airborne Corps.

Out of caution, the plane landed immediately so the soldiers could be treated for heat exhaustion,

The names of the injured are being withheld in accordance with privacy guidelines, a Fort Bragg spokesperson said. The exact number of soldiers affected was not immediately released.

A base official told ABC News there were no deaths or serious injuries. The affected soldiers were given preliminary treatment on site before being taken to medical facilities. All are expected to recover.
