No charges filed in death of 2-year-old girl struck in Johnston County driveway

SMITHFIELD, N.C. -- A 2-year-old girl was run over and killed in a driveway Monday in Johnston County.

It happened behind a home on Highway 70 Business near Smithfield.
Initial reports indicated that two children were at their grandparents' house and when the grandmother returned from an errand, she didn't see the children playing and hit one of them.
The grandmother will not be charged.
