DURHAM (WTVD) -- The Durham Police Department says a woman involved in a minor traffic accident fled the scene at high speed and was killed in a crash.

It happened just after 11 p.m. Monday.

According to police, 27-year-old Angelica Michelle Holder rear-ended a vehicle at U.S. Highway 70 and East End Avenue and then took off.

She ran off the left side of the highway, hit an embankment, and her car flipped. Holder, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
