I-40 east reopens in Durham after serious crash

The crash closed eastbound lanes near Fayetteville Road.

DURHAM, N.C. -- A crash closed part of Interstate 40 in Durham on Monday morning.



The collision briefly closed the highway's eastbound lanes of the highway near Fayetteville Road (mile marker 276). The road has since reopened.




Authorities responded to the accident around 6:45. Delays are expected to last until 8 a.m. It's not known what caused the crash or if there were any injuries.
