Plane makes emergency landing at RDU

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- A JetBlue passenger plane headed from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Palm Beach made an emergency landing at RDU after a report of smoke on board Monday morning.

The plane touched down safely around 9:15.

An RDU spokesperson said the flight was diverted because of a possible mechanical issue and JetBlue is making arrangements to get the passengers to their destination.
