Lee County Woman shot and killed, police investigate as homicide

A woman was found shot in the road by police in Lee County Saturday morning.

According to the Lee Counties Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to calls of a disturbance in the 4300 block of Steele Bridge Road. When deputies arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound in the road. She later died from her injuries.

The Sherriff's office is investigating the incident as a homicide.
