Combs and family bow their heads and pray as deliberations begin
Sean Combs appeared to be in good spirits when he entered the courtroom on Monday. He hugged all the members of his defense team and waved at his six oldest children (Christian, Chance, Justin, D'Lila, Jessie and Quincy) who are all in court today. Combs' mother Janice and half-sister Keisha are also in court.
Jurors followed along as the judge read the instructions, turning the pages of the thick stack of double-side printed instructions in unison. One juror jotted a few notes down on his sheet as the judge read.
Combs sat facing forward mostly, watching the judge but occasionally glancing at the jury box. He and his defense team passed a few notes back and forth during the instruction.
After the jury left to deliberate, the courtroom was cleared, and Combs was given an opportunity to turn and speak to his family. After saying a few words, his family all joined hands and bowed their heads, appearing to pray for several minutes. Positioned near the defense counsel table a few feet from his family, Combs bowed his head during the prayer. At the end of the prayer, Combs and his family applauded and exchanged more words.
