Hedingham survivor, RPD officer testifies: 'Felt like a train going through my knee"
After the mass shooting in Raleigh's Hedingham neighborhood, Austin Thompson was seen watching video of Raleigh police officers tracking him through the woods.
Casey Clark was once a member of the SWAT team.
On Wednesday, he testified that he had already worked a full shift earlier that day but then went to the scene when he learned there was an active shooter.
"I heard a gunshot, and I felt what felt like a train going through my knee. drops me to the ground," he testified.
Clark was shot in the leg.
"That was hard. The, was my entire life goal. was to become was to be on the SWAT team. That was my dream," Clark testified. "My wife specifically has a lot of trauma from this. She's constantly, instead of the happy-go-lucky woman that I married, where she was able to walk down the street -- not stressed -- now she evaluates everyone as a threat."
Clark said the bullet is still lodged in his knee, and his leg will often give out.
He is no longer able to work in law enforcement and is now a Realtor in Michigan.
