RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- An investigation was prompted after a man made a bomb threat at a Raleigh police substation on Wednesday morning.

Officers responded around 10:38 a.m. to a call about a suspicious person in the 5200 block of Greens Dairy Road.

During the response, a man came to the police station and, while being questioned by detectives, threatened that a pipe bomb was inside his vehicle in the station parking lot.

No hazardous devices were found in or around the man's vehicle, police confirmed.

Raleigh police later charged 33-year-old Christopher Carnes with two counts of perpetrating a hoax in or at a public building.

"We want to stress that there is no ongoing threat to the community," Raleigh police said in a statement.
