Local Make-A-Wish kid headed to meet Derek Jeter
A Wake County kid is on his way to meet his hero thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Davis Teitelbaum flew out of RDU Wednesday afternoon with his family and is now in New York City.
The young boy has three illnesses he's battling.
As a big Yankees fan, his one wish was to meet Derek Jeter and now it's about to happen.
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime that and nor I thought would ever happen," said Kate Teitelbaum, Davis' mom.
"Davis has been through so much in his life and I think that this is just something that he really deserves and the Make-A-Wish foundation has made it come true," said Dan Teitelbaum, Davis' dad.
While in New York, the family will also take time to visit the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and other New York attractions.
