Durham Police investigating fatal shooting
Police said it appeared the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute and the investigation is still ongoing.

DURHAM (WTVD) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened in northern Durham Sunday evening.

Just before 5 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of Maplewood Drive. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Arthur Holeman Taylor Jr. of Durham lying in a driveway.

Authorities said he had been shot multiple times and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

A second man, 25-year-old Timothy Wade Samuel of Durham, was also shot. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening.

Police said it appeared the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute and the investigation is still ongoing.

Investigators have interviewed several people in connection with the incident. According to a preliminary investigation, it did not appear that Samuel and Taylor shot each other.
