Investigators aren't saying much. They deny the incident is a death investigation.

An officer is still staked outside the house where Jansen was last seen. It's a home where Jansen lives with his wife.

A neighbor told ABC11 that Jansen's wife was expecting him home at a certain and when he didn't show, she got concerned.

Jansen works in the Washington, D.C. area during the week, but returns home to Wake Forest on the weekend. He was last seen around 9 a.m. Saturday.

His neighbors made an unsettling discovery and then decided to call police.

"The thing that scares me the most is there were a couple of blood spots on the walkway between the front door and the driveway that left off into the grass," said neighbor Stan Sasinowski.

Anyone with information on Jansen's whereabouts should contact police.
