California shoe store robbed by 2 armed suspects wearing monkey masks

LOS ANGELES, California -- Two armed suspects wearing monkey masks stole boxes of Nike Jordan shoes for women from a sneaker store in Los Angeles Thursday.

The bizarre robbery was reported just before 1 p.m.

The suspects threatened the clerk with two semi-auto handguns. Police say they fled the scene in a late model four-door gray Nissan Altima with paper plates. No one was injured.

Surveillance video showed one of the robbers put down a gun as he grabbed merchandise and then leave it behind during his getaway.
